What a way to end the year! Congrats to all of our winners at this years Club Championships.
Men's Club Champs:
In C Grade Brian Walker had a convincing win over Jack Penney. This was Brian's second win in the grade. Well done to Jack who has only recently returned to golf after time away.
In the Junior grade Brett Codlin built a nice early lead and held on to beat Cameron Kerr who made a spirited comeback in the afternoon.
Similarly in Intermediates David Pivott held his nerve to beat John Nair, who took the match to the 36th hole.
In seniors we had possibly our youngest ever winner (certainly in recent years) in 16 year old Kimi Pan beating last year's winner Tony Manning.
In addition to Club Champs, and on the back of increasing interest from our younger members, we took the opportunity to reintroduce trophies for the Juniors. Dong Peng Zuo was declared Juniors champion (played under Stableford conditions) and won the newly minted Ted McDougall Salver in a close match with Daniella Belford.
The PGC Most Improved Junior trophy was taken out by Ricco Marsden. This trophy rewarded Ricco for dropping from a 21 to 8.8 handicap in a calendar year. The trophy was originally presented to the club by Martin Roesink, a well known Dutch professional who practiced at Pukekohe in the 1960s. The trophy hadn't been presented in recent years so it's great to see it back.
In our women's division, congratulations to our winners
Silver Division: Kelly Maxwell
Bronze I Division: Teresa Gillies
Bronze II Division: Michelle Higgins
Congratulations to all our winners on their fantastic performances

Club golf championships are among the most important events in the lives of local sports communities, where players compete over several rounds, demonstrating consistency, accuracy, and the ability to make strategic decisions on the course. Such tournaments not only highlight individual achievements but also strengthen the club’s overall culture and encourage long-term participation in the sport. In discussions about modern sports ecosystems and digital engagement tools, the platform https://spinpolo-nz.com/ is sometimes mentioned as part of broader online services related to sports engagement and sports betting. These trends reflect how traditional competitions and digital environments are gradually becoming increasingly interconnected in the modern sports world.
