Club Management
General Manager

I have been the General Manager at Pukekohe since 2010 and I love it here. The club is financially robust and it has a programme of continual improvement. We have called it the "Hidden Jewel of Auckland" and it is has become the "must play" course when anyone is in Auckland. In the past the summer fairways have been hard and fast but the spreading cooch grass is providing cover and the greens are becoming quick but more importantly, true as we introduce new management practices and bentgrass into them. Over winter, our drainage programme has made the course dry under foot all year around unless the river floods and, even then, the course is playable as soon as it goes down again.
Membership numbers are rapidly increasing to the extent that a Capital Surcharge will be introduced from 1st September 2021 so I highly recommend that you come and play here and, if moving to Auckland or starting golf, come and join. We will have a deal for you and you will be at a very friendly club with a great golf experience as well.
Cheers & happy golfing
Ian Litchfield

Club Management
The Pukekohe Golf Club is managed by the members through a Board of Directors who look after governance and a Golf Committee who manage the golf programme, rules and all other issues associated with the playing of golf.
The General Manager looks after all of the day-to-day running of the golf club with permanent and casual staff in the office, course and cafe. This is done under the objectives set out in our 5-Year Strategic Plan and the annual Business Plan and budget. The ProShop is run under contract but the Head Professional reports to the General Manager. The golf course is maintained by the Course Manager with a 2IC, a qualified green keeper and a labourer. An apprentice is usually involved as well.
Board of Directors
The overall direction of the golf club is the responsibility of the Board, which is made up of the President, a Treasurer and three Board members. The General Manager attends Board meetings to report and has speaking but not voting rights.
The Board sets the long-term plan for the future of the golf club, to grow it and help ensure it becomes an integral part of the community. This is done via the 5-Year Strategic Plan for the GM to operate under and for setting the club budgets, subscription levels, authorising major payments and investing spare funds from time to time.
Golf Committee
The golf committee is made up of the men’s and women’s Captains and Vice Captains, the club's PGA pro and the 9-Hole Section Convenor. Invited guests include the Course Manager, a Seniors representative and the General Manager.
This committee sets out the golf playing program and is concerned with the golf competitions within the club and the selection of club teams to represent the club in interclub golf matches.
It also manages all rules and playing disputes on the golf course and recommends any changes to the golf course layout to the Board of Directors.
